CareerPoint

Content and Moderation Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026Version 1.0

1.Purpose and scope

CareerPoint is a job board connecting candidates with employers hiring in Cyprus. This policy sets out what may and may not be published on the platform, and how we act when something breaches it.

It applies to everything users submit: job listings, company profiles, candidate profiles, CVs, cover letters and messages sent through the platform.

By posting or applying you agree to follow this policy. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2.What a job listing must be

Every listing must describe a real, currently available position with a genuine intention to hire.

A listing must:

  • name the employer, or the recruitment agency acting for them
  • describe the actual role, its responsibilities and its location or remote arrangement
  • state the employment type accurately (full-time, part-time, contract, freelance or internship)
  • be posted by someone authorised to recruit for that employer

If a listing is posted by an agency on a client's behalf, that must be clear from the listing. Candidates are entitled to know who will receive their application.

3.Prohibited content

The following will be removed. Repeated or serious breaches lead to account suspension.

  • Discriminatory requirements. Listings must not restrict or express a preference by age, sex, gender identity, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sexual orientation, marital or family status, except where a characteristic is a genuine and lawful occupational requirement.
  • Charging jobseekers. Requests for payment from candidates for applying, being placed, training, equipment, visas or background checks.
  • Requests for financial information. Bank details, card numbers or payments of any kind, at any stage of an application made through this platform.
  • Unpaid work presented as employment, other than genuine internships and volunteer roles that are clearly and accurately labelled as such.
  • Multi-level marketing, commission-only schemes presented as salaried roles, pyramid schemes, and 'business opportunities' presented as jobs.
  • Illegal work, or roles requiring the candidate to break the law.
  • Adult services, gambling promotion, or content unsuitable for a general professional audience.
  • Misleading listings. Bait-and-switch roles, positions that do not exist, listings that are actually advertisements, or duplicate posts for the same role.
  • Harvesting. Listings whose purpose is to collect CVs or personal data rather than to fill a role.
  • Contact details in place of an application. Listings that route candidates off-platform purely to avoid our application process and its data protections.
  • Malware, phishing, or links to either.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or content degrading a person or group.
  • Content infringing someone else's copyright, trade mark or other rights.
  • Impersonation of another company or person.

4.Employer responsibilities

Employers and recruiters using CareerPoint must:

  • keep listings accurate, and close or let expire roles that are no longer open
  • use candidate data only to assess that candidate for the role they applied to
  • not share a candidate's CV or details with third parties without their consent
  • respond to candidates through the platform's messaging rather than diverting them to unmonitored channels
  • comply with Cyprus and EU employment and data protection law

Candidate CVs and personal data obtained through CareerPoint must not be added to marketing lists, resold, or retained beyond what the recruitment purpose requires.

5.Candidate responsibilities

Candidates must:

  • provide accurate information in their profile, CV and applications
  • apply only on their own behalf
  • not upload documents containing other people's personal data without their consent
  • not use the platform's messaging to send unsolicited advertising

Misrepresenting qualifications or identity may result in removal from the platform.

6.Reporting a problem

If you see a listing, profile or message that breaches this policy, report it to us at hello@careerpoint.com.cy.

Tell us what you found and where. A link to the listing or profile, and a short description of the problem, is enough. If you are reporting something urgent — a scam actively collecting payments or personal data, for example — say so, and we will prioritise it.

You do not need an account to report something. We will not share your identity with the party you reported unless we are legally required to.

7.How we enforce this policy

We review reported content, and we also review listings proactively.

Depending on what we find, and on whether it has happened before, we may:

  • ask the poster to edit the content
  • hide or remove the listing, profile or message
  • suspend the account's ability to post
  • close the account
  • report the matter to the authorities, where we believe a crime has been committed

Content that puts people at immediate risk — scams collecting money or personal data, phishing, threats — is removed first and discussed afterwards.

We aim to act on reports within two working days. Paid listings removed for breaching this policy are not refunded.

8.If we remove your content

We will tell you what was removed and which part of this policy it breached.

If you believe we got it wrong, reply to that message or write to hello@careerpoint.com.cy within 30 days, explaining why. A different person to the one who made the original decision will review it, and we will tell you the outcome.

If your account was closed and you disagree, the same process applies.

9.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform changes or as the law requires. The date it last changed is shown at the top of this page.

If a change materially affects what you may post, we will tell registered users before it takes effect.
